A true tale of Suffragettes defending themselves with Jiu Jitsu. A new theatre show inspiring young people to see they can change the world.
Help us tell this vital story…
In 2018 we have to think differently about fundraising for theatre development. We have already had help from many of you in the form of your time, helping us gather vital information on the history of Horse + Bamboo and 679 Bacup Road, so we would like to thank those people, and once again ask for your help.
- Support us to create an exciting new piece of theatre made in Rossendale
- Help us raise £10,000
- Be involved in every step of our creative process through exclusive rewards
Suffrajitsu will celebrate this ingenious, creative and diverse movement. Help us tell the story of these strong women with the feisty flare it deserves and a knowledge that every young audience member can be the next heroine or hero of our time.
Suffrajitsu will be created in 2018, a centuary since the introduction of the Representation of the People Act which gave the first group of women the vote, and a celebration of our 40th anniversary as a visual theatre company.
Little Angel Theatre, who celebrated 50 years in 2011 continue to command international respect for their productions, and are dearly loved by children and adults alike, including many of our Boo audiences, as they have previously brought us productions such as Handa’s Surprise and Wow Said The Owl.
Both Horse + Bamboo Theatre and Little Angel Theatre are registered charities and as such we are overseen by the Charities Commission.
