As part of Rossendale Art Trail 2021, The Boo will be hosting two exhibition weekends from Rossendale artists.

12th – 14th November : Scott Sadler ‘The Sketching Postman’ exhibition

19th – 21st November : Vincent Vee Exhibition

Newchurch-based artist, Scott Sadler has lived in Rossendale for 17 years.  His ink & watercolour sketches depict buildings, houses and familiar views from across Rossendale and Manchester.

The Sketching Postman exhibit will feature a selection of watercolour paintings and drawings of Manchester scenes, as well as sketches inspired by Scott’s daily post rounds throughout Rossendale.

No booking required, come down any time during the exhibition opening times.

.In addition to the exhibition – Scott will be holding SKETCH WALKS during Rossendale Art Trail, meeting point at The Boo.

Sunday 14th November | Sketch Walk | 12pm – 2pm

Sunday 21st November | Sketch Walk | 12pm – 2pm

.Join Scott ’The Sketching Postman’ for a walk around Waterfoot and Newchurch, pausing occasionally to sketch our surroundings.  This is an informal, social gathering so there’s no need to book and the event is free to attend.  Seasoned urban sketchers and newbies welcome.  Please bring your own sketchbook and pen/pencil.

Please note, the Sketch Walk is an informal group rather than tuition session, however tips & advice can be offered to any that want it!  Scott will share tips on capturing the wide angle, convex perspective that can be seen in many Sketching Postman paintings.

* Event will go ahead with a little bit of rain, please come ready for all weathers and a walk!  However if heavy rain is forecast, sketch group will still take place in The Boo.
