Our Baby Boo sessions are now free! Creative and relaxed play sessions will help your little one discover the new as they go on a sensory journey. Everyday objects become extraordinary and spark the imagination. This session is now drop in only. No pre-booking, the spaces are first come first served.

The Boo introduces Drink + Draw a bi-monthly meeting for everyone interested in learning or practicing drawing while having a good glass of beer or wine or gin of course!
We will have some ice-braking drawing games as well as plenty of opportunity to learn or improve on your drawing skills, but most importantly Drink + Draw is about having fun!

Our Boo Gin Club will also be open alongside Drink + Draw

Drink + Draw is Free and there is no need to book.

For 18+ only

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with our special Drink + Make session. We will have lots of different Valentine’s Day crafts for you to take part in, you could help decorate our bar for the occasion or make your own Valentine’s Day card.
Alternatively you can bring along your own crafting project!

Our Boo Gin Club will also be open alongside Drink + Draw

FEBRUARY – Wednesday 18th, 12:30pm – 4:30pm FREE


This half term we will be building a paper jungle in our Boo Cafe! come along and join us to build the flora and fauna and transform our cafe into a jungle! There will also be an opportunity to create some of the wildlife that live in the jungle and on Wednesday we will be making Lion masks before for our half term family show – Charmane, and our paper jungle will make the perfect photo backdrop!

ARTS AWARD – Animation Workshop

A 7 week course to earn your Explore Arts Award her at The Boo! Along with creating your own short animation from scratch, we will look at the history of Horse + Bamboo, The Boo and meet Makeshift Ensemble, whose current show ‘The Curious Garden’ we will see as part of the course. The price of the workshop includes: 1 child ticket to ‘The Curious Garden’ (Sat 30th May) and the accreditation cost of Art Award qualification.

7 week course, weekly from Wednesday 22nd April – Wednesday 3rd June 2020

This Easter holiday enjoy an afternoon of crafting at The Boo! Drop in to make your very own Easter Chick puppets. There will also be some Easter themed treats available in The Boo Cafe.

The Boo’s Young Musicians’ Award is back for a second year! Budding young artists of any genre can apply to compete at this year’s event, for the chance to perform on Waterfoot Wakes’ Main Stage. Would you like the chance to perform? Download the application pack here

This May half term enjoy an afternoon of crafting at The Boo! For our final crafternoon of this season we will be getting ready for our Wakes Parade. Drop in and create your very own ‘junk creature’ out of recycled materials ready to be paraded at our Waterfoot Wakes Parade on Saturday 11th July. We will have lots of ideas and templates to get you started along with all the materials to create your fantastical creatures, real or imaginary.

Want to take part in our parade? The parade is back for its third year, our theme is ‘The Age of the Scavenger’, and the only rule is your costume/ float must be scavenged! It can be made from things found around our workshop or brought in yourself: just remember to re-use and re-purpose, not buy new! The possibilities are endless so come along as we take your 2D dreams into the 3rd dimension and you take part in our parade!
