To end our quartet of Dahl films, we have Revolting Rhymes. No nursery rhyme is quite as it seems when Roald Dahl has re-written it. Hungry wolves would be advised to watch their step when Little Red Riding Hood is about, and as for Cinderella’s prince, well, let’s just hope he keeps his head.

JUNIOR PUPPET PERFORMERS – HORSE + BAMBOO

Come along and star in our annual Puppet Festival alongside critically acclaimed theatre companies, performers, musicians and makers!

This summer we’re giving children and young people the chance to create a short piece of ensemble theatre in renowned Horse +Bamboo style to perform at our annual summer Puppet Festival on Sunday 16th July.

Sessions will be led by in-house Performer/Maker Alicia Myerscough with an emphasis on imagination team-work and a strong sense of fun. Each participant will also be given a Discover Arts Award qualification at the end of the term. BOOKTICKETS-BUTTON

JOIN IN ! – BABY EXPLORERS

Drop in to The Boo with your babies and toddlers this spring/summer for a series of relaxed creative play sessions. Anytime between 10 and 12 pm

There’ll be plenty of opportunity for you and your little ones to socialise and interact with other families, enjoy guided sensory play, and spend time together in a safe, friendly and fun environment. Each session will be centred around a different feel, sound, or smell, and will give you the chance to relax as we guide you and your baby though a journey of interactive play.

The queen is fed up. Her lazy son needs to grow up, get married and become king. She invites all the princesses in the land to find him a bride, but he isn’t impressed by any of them. Then one day a princess arrives accompanied by her brother Happily Ever After is a hilarious, wordless show from Action Transport Theatre, in partnership with The Proud Trust. It’s a not-to-be- missed fairytale with a twist.

BAMBOOZLE BAND – HORSE + BAMBOO

BamBOOzle Band will be making a vibrant revival for this year’s Puppet Festival Parade. Open to any age and any ability. If you play an instrument, bring it along! If not, we have plenty of percussion for you to experiment with and join in the fun.

We’ll be working towards a performance at our annual Puppet Festival Parade on Sunday 16th July at 4pm here in Waterfoot this summer. Sessions will be tailored to the group, with a fun and flexible approach to making music. We’d love to see you there. Rehearsals are every Tuesday evening 4 weeks prior to the festival, with complementary tea, coffee, juice and biscuits!

This multi-media storytelling show jumps and leaps across a country, drawing stories from the places where landscape and imagination meet. Some are old, having jostled down generations, whilst others are first person, current experiences, that live in a territory between our geographies.
