We’re so excited about the brilliant range of high-quality children’s theatre we are bringing to our audiences in 2019. We are thrilled to welcome back Puppet Festival favourites, The Lempens with ‘The Golden Princess’ in February, a true puppetry masterpiece. The Egg theatre company, co-producers on Moominland Midwinter in 2013, are also back – this time with their show ‘Muckers’ which promises magic, music and mischief!

THE GOLDEN PRINCESS BY LEMPEN PUPPET THEATRE

In the Kingdom of Rumours lives Princess Suzanna the Golden. She is rich and famous but not happy. But why is she so sad? And what in the world will make her happy?Only Melo, the unusual musician, has the gift to help her. A theatrical performance using acting, puppets, shadows and music for everyone from 5 years old to 105 years young.

STRIPEY HONEY… IS VERY YUMMY BY MASHI THEATRE

AT ACCRINGTON LIBRARY

Stripey Honey… is very yummy! Is a touching and funny story of how tigers, bees and honey collectors learn to live together. Mashi brings a new play to young audiences of adventure and fun with music by award-winning composer Arun Ghosh, song, dance and puppetry, exploring the lives of some of our most precious but endangered species.

Co-programmed by Spot On Lancashire this event takes place at Accrington Library

THE CHEF’S APPRENTICE BY ACADEMY OF FUN

The chef’s new apprentice has some great food ideas but he also manages to cause chaos when left to prepare the kitchen for the chef’s masterpiece. Will he be able to tidy up in time ready to make delicious shakes and smoothies to impress the boss? Expect live food tasting and a lot of audience involvement on this frantic food adventure!

A boy falls and finds himself in  a dark and terrifying new world. It’s a world of lost things: car keys, wedding rings and a mysterious new girl who is building an amazing machine. Performed in a unique dome structure, The Lost Things is about losing things and finding things you didn’t even know you were looking for.

BOY AND THE MERMAID BY PAPER BALLOON

“On the farthest edge of a wind-battered rock there sits a small fishing town. Sometimes it feels like the town is on the edge of the world…”

Join three shanty-singing fishermen as they weave a fishy tale of musical merfolk, menacing monsters and spectacularly bad town planning. With live music, puppetry, a rapping octopus and a shifting set full surprises!

MUCKERS BY THE EGG + OXFORD PLAYHOUSE

Created by award-winning theatre maker, Caroline Horton and an international ensemble, Muckers is  a funny, magical, physical production for ages 5+. With original songs and quite a lot of Spanish, this mischievous show asks what it takes to stand proud and be true to ourselves and how we empower the next generation to do the same.
