COMEDY NIGHT WITH JUSTIN MOORHOUSE – The Boo

The Boo’s Comedy Night returns this July to launch the start of Waterfoot Wakes Festival. Opening the show will be JUSTIN MOORHOUSE the Mancunian comedian has stared in Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights and is heading up to The Edinburgh Fringe in August so, we’re sure he will be previewing his latest shows material. Also on the bill is TEZ IILYAS, described by The Guardian as a ‘cheeky chappy,’ the Blackburn based comic takes on British Muslim identity and a whole lot of other stuff and is guaranteed to get you laughing.

Want to dine before the event? We have a special pre-show dinner offer in conjunction with the Old Library Cafe. Dine there at 6:30pm before joining us across the road at The Boo for the Comedy Night! Ticket for dinner and the show is only £19.50. Booking essential as there is only a limited amount of Dinner and Comedy Night tickets available.

TOM THUMB BY LYNGO THEATRE – The Boo

One night tiny Tom overhears Mum and Dad talking – there’s nothing left to eat so they are going to leave him and his six brothers in the forest! Outwitting his parents and the ogre Tom shows everybody that even though he is small he is still mighty as he protects his brothers, finds the treasure and makes sure they’ll never be hungry again. Performed entirely on and under a kitchen table this classic story is brought to life in a playful and fascinating show full of Lyngo‘s magic with feathery spinning birds, a flying house and a portable forest. Come and join tiny Tom on his very big adventure!

DJ LOWRIDER is our official Wakes DJ and will be hosting an after party at The Boo on the Saturday night! So put on your dancing shoes and head to The Boo after the days events are over as we are going to be partying into the night!

CINEMA EARLY MAN  AARDMAN ANIMATIONS – The Millennium Theatre, Waterfoot

EARLY MAN is the new prehistoric comedy adventure from four-time Academy Award-winning director Nick Park and AARDMAN, the creators of WALLACE AND GROMIT and SHAUN THE SHEEP. Shot in Aardman’s own distinctive style, the film will take audiences on an extraordinary journey into an exciting new world, unleashing an unforgettable tribe of unique and funny new characters voiced by an all-star British cast.

Set at the dawn of time, when prehistoric creatures roamed the earth, EARLY MAN tells the story of courageous caveman hero Dug (EDDIE REDMAYNE) and his best friend Hognob, as they unite his tribe against a mighty enemy, Lord Nooth (TOM HIDDLESTON), and his Bronze Age City to save their home.

This film has a PG certificate. We are not taking advance bookings for this amazing movie – its turn up on the day!

PUSS IN BOOTS BY LYNGO THEATRE – The Boo

Would you trust a talking cat? You never know, he might turn you from a pauper to a prince just like the hero of this story, brought to vivid life on our incredible sloping stage by Patrick Lynch from CBeebies. Using smoke and mirrors and hidden trapdoors he’ll show you how this sure-footed feline fools both the King and the Ogre to put his master at the top. A host of puppets, a working windmill and an avalanche of fruit and nuts await you in this classic furry tail! It’s the cat’s whiskers!
