COMEDY NIGHT EDINBURGH FRINGE PREVIEWS FROM NICK DOODY + HOWARD READ – The Boo

The Boo’s Comedy Night is back for the Waterfoot Wakes and we have two fantastic Edinburgh preview shows, catch brand new material from Nick Doody as he previews “I Will Milk You” follow on from his 2018 show using audience reviews: ‘He milked me. Why was there no warning?’, ‘A warning would’ve been nice’, ‘Why weren’t we warned his about the milking?’ The message has been received people. This show is literally called I Will Milk You. Happy now?

How Read will be previewing material for his 2020 Edinburgh Fringe show along with some tried and tested material.

Come on in for an experience like no other. With puppetry, physical comedy and circus skills, Happy Campers’ Theatre brings you a fun and playful tale from the Big Top

THE CROW’S TALE BY STRING THEATRE – The Boo

Inspired by a Lenni Lenape Indian legend, The Crow’s Tale tells the story of a crow with colourful rainbow feathers who, in the middle of a snowy winter, travels to the sun to ask for warmth as all the animals are cold and hungry. Crow embarks on on a journey that will transform his appearance forever while kindness, generosity and courage will shine through

FILM NIGHT – SHORTS + WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND (1961) (PG) – The Boo

In true old school cinema style, we will be showing a series of Rossendale + Wakes themed shorts from the Lancashire film archive, along with Horse + Bamboo’s Different Moons Animations before showing the main feature Whistle Down The Wind, this classic black and white film set in Rossendale and starring Hayley Mills who finds a strange man hiding in the family barn and after a confusing exchange decides along with her siblings and friends he must be Jesus!

TOO MANY COOKS BY HANDMADE THEATRE – The Boo Garden

Inspired by the boom in food themed TV shows, festivals and an artisan culturenin anything from coffee to sausages! In this tasty show we encounter three food enthusiasts as they battle it out to win Best in Show, with prize winning veg, best bakes and the world’s smelliest cheese. Set in a specially converted food van, pull up a chair and join us in the ‘Too Many Cooks’ culinary cafe.

WATERFOOT WAKES PARADE STARTS

12 NOON SATURDAY 6TH  JULY FROM BRGS

Our parade, led by Cacophany Arkestra, will set off from BRGS at 12noon on Saturday 6th July and will last approximately 45 minutes. Spectators will get the best view from lining Booth Street + Burnley Road East. Look out for parade band slots on the Play Park, outside the Duke of Buccleugh and in The Boo Garden, once the parade has finished.
