Before you arrive

We are delighted to be able to welcome you back to The Boo this October for our ‘Season In A Week’ : A week of live events here at The Boo for all the family.

Before you return to us and live events, during your visit we ask that you follow some simple guidelines to protect yourself, other customers and our staff.  You’ll probably already be familiar with many of these from going into shops and other premises.

We will be constantly reviewing the guidelines below, and welcome any feedback.


If you are attending an event, please arrive as close to the arrival time or start time of the event as possible.  When you arrive, there will likely be some queuing, but we will do everything we can to keep this to a minimum.  Please arrive in good time for any performance.

All tickets will be checked with a contactless booking system at the back entrance to The Boo – there is no need to bring a physical ticket or print out with you.


Our staff will be managing departures from the performance area so that we don’t have large crowds all leaving at the same time.

Please follow our one-way system around the building and leave The Boo via the front door.

Outdoor Performance

If you are attending an outdoor performance – please dress ready to be sat outside! There will be hot drinks available for purchase, and you can bring your own blankets / hot water bottles if it is a cold day.  There will be some cover over the audience and we will ask that no umbrellas are up during a performance so that all the audience can view the stage.
We will perform in all but the worst of weathers.  However, should torrential rain or thunder and lightning strike, we will stop the performance for health and safety reasons.

Social Distancing

We ask that you do not attend events with people from outside your household or extended bubble in line with the current extra government guidelines in place for Rossendale.

Each household will be kept at a safe distance from other households in line with government guidance throughout all events.  Our staff may have to direct you to a specific social bubble spot or seating area, and they may need to ask you to wait outside the building to stagger entry to events.  Please be patient with them and sit where they direct – they know best!


You will need to wear a mask inside The Boo at all times (this is not apply to children age under 11 or if you are exempt).

We are also protecting our staff members and they will be wearing visors or masks for the duration of your visit.  If you need a staff member to remove their mask for access reasons – please let us know on booking or when you arrive.

Contactless Payments 

At this time we will be operating as a cashless venue and only able to accept contactless and card payments. We sorry for any inconvenience this might cause.

Food and Refreshments

At most of the events we will be offering a limited range of soft and alcoholic drinks, alongside a limited range of snacks. The order for these will be taken once you are seated in your bubble and delivered to you by our staff.


The toilets are inside The Boo, please follow the one way system around the building.  All toilets will be stocked with anti-bacterial hand soap and stringent hand washing guidelines are in place.

Additional Cleaning

Touch points during all events will be cleaned every 30 minutes by our front of house staff.  The building will be deep cleaned between each event.  Our already high cleaning standards have been enhanced by a cleaning programme that will sanitise all touch points for adults and children in our building, and we have removed all unnecessary surfaces and touch points.

Ticketing Policy

If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, have been diagnosed with the virus or have been in direct contact with a diagnosed individual in the past 14 days, you must not attend any event at The Boo. If you are unable to attend due to illness, please email and a ticket transfer can be arranged.  If a suitable transfer cannot be arrange we will issue a refund.
